jewelry
before i knew it, i had collected a treasure box.

similar to my memory box of writing, i had gathered lost, abandoned, and forgotten jewelry.

i would gather pieces i found on the streets or people would hand them to me.
i adopted this colorful family of materials until i could no longer close the lid.

in 2018, to breathe life into them once again, i tought myself how to make jewelry.
how to take old jewelry apart and make new pieces out of them.
i sourced the materials from my treasure box and gave them a second life.

it reminded me of my own patchwork family.

a couple years later i created Lio's adornments, where jewelry meets poetry.
my treasure box met my memory box.
my love for yarn grew into my love for wire.
