yarn expressions
in 2017 i explored yarn as a medium for capturing facial expressions and emotions.

I was in development for my thesis film and while exploring how to capture such a painful personal story,
I instinctively wanted to protect myself.

I chose to make the animated character that represented trauma to be made out of something comforting.
Yarn.

I would be touching it for dozens of hours as a stopmotion-animated character
and i wanted to feel as safe as I possibly could in the process.

I've always found yarn to be endearing and a natural medium of connection.
weaving, knitting, crocheting

a continuous strand through dancing hands building connective tissue
